It arrives flat and goes together on the surface it will stand on. Count the fasteners against the sheet before you start, leave everything finger-tight until the piece is standing, and give the fittings a quarter turn next spring.

No tools required. Very sturdy. The only thing I didn’t like was the cup holder on one chair is covered when the table is connected. Looks nice and has a hole for an umbrella.
